Penang Kek Lok Si Temple 檳城極樂寺

檳城極樂寺坐落於檳島Ayer Itam,是遊客在島上必到的聞名佛寺,平日開放至傍晚五時左右.每逢華人農曆新年,極樂寺整間寺廟將張燈結綵長達元月三十天,并開放至深夜供人參觀.那猶如燈海一般的美景,更是吸引全島人民的到來.上圖為極樂寺七層寶塔,塔內壁上一共繪上一萬尊佛像圖.

我都不在新年時來檳城,可惜無緣一睹燈海美景(哭).這次到此一遊恰逢寺廟多處正進行維修,再加上老天不作美,拍得好看的照片也不多(囧).

Kek Lok Si Temple is a famous Buddhist temple and tourism hot spot in Penang. It is located in Ayer Itam. One of the attraction is during the Chinese New Year, the temple is fully lit up with light for 30 days and open for public until late night. One of the few specialty is the Big Guan Yin statue and the 10,000 Buddha imej on the 7 storey Pagoda.
